Political radio in medium waves?

2 Days ago in an italian newspaper i read an article about
the choice of closing a political tv station (it was broadcasting
only via satellite and it opened only 14 months ago!) that was 
very close to Berlusconi's party and start a political radio.
The journalist doesn't know whether will be only a
web radio or it will broadcast on medium waves.

Who is going to listen to a political radio in medium waves??
Or maybe the question should be:
nowadays who is going to listen to a radio in medium waves??
People are used to listen to stereo-quality in FM and won't switch
their tuner to medium waves to listen to propaganda in mono-quality.

I do doubt it'll be a success of audience.
